One of my goals for 2012 is to makeover my living room/dining room spaces.
I love dark wood, and I LOVE my furniture and sofa, but the rest of the room is just, well, dark.
See? Dark!
So here's the deal - none of the furniture is small enough that I'm willing to tackle painting it, and I really love it all as is. So wall color and accessories is the way to go. Only, I had no idea what I wanted to do...until I saw this at Target the other day:

Yes, it may just be a simple lampshade to you, but to me, it was INSPIRATION! I found myself in the store looking at it and wanting to pin it right there. (Don't you wish life had a "Pin In" button???)
Anyway, I haven't bought it yet, but it's only $19.99 so I will be soon! It's from a new line called Hue by Sabrina Soto. I seriously fell in love with everything I saw!!
This pretty wall canvas is actually the jumping off point for the whole room.
I'm a sucker for pretty pillows.
I think we have a color scheme!
I'm really excited about planning out this room. The wall color will be the first thing to change. I want something light and tan-ish, almost white, but not white. Any suggestions?
Oh, and since I haven't written a post-Christmas post (haven't even looked at our photos yet!) I thought I'd update you on how the kids did in their roles as Mary & Joseph at church on Christmas Eve.
During practice, Cooper could not keep his hands out of his mouth. It's a nervous thing that he does. We told him several times to be sure and keep his hands out of his mouth during the performance.
So he played with the rope around his waist instead. Afterwards, he made sure to tell me that he kept his hands out of his mouth!
Cutest Mary & Joseph ever.
Thankfully Baby Jesus was not dropped on his head.

ReplyDeleteI came over from Savvy Southern Style, you did a great design for her, and see that you don't move blogs to wordpress. I hoping to make the move this year.
ReplyDeleteCome on over and enter the giveaway for a great cleaning product that I love.

I just saw that shade and matching lamp at Target today, love it!
ReplyDeleteI love that lampshade! Great inspiration!
ReplyDeleteLook forward to seeing the transformation. My living room is the most odd shape...it's the thorn in my flesh. No real room or good walls for arranging furniture. I wish an interior designer could just come tell me what to do. Also, I used one of your Christmas printables for an art gallery in my home. Looked super cute! Will be blogging about it soon. Thanks for sharing it!
ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to seeing what you come up with!! The color scheme is just perfect! I love your new design- so beautiful!
ReplyDeleteSo, does that mean that you are doing a make over on the fireplace? I am contemplating doing mine...!
