Once someone gave me a ball of cotton, but I had nothing to work with at the location I was at....so I cut myself a crochet hook out of a privet branch and started crocheting. Ever since that time I've been working with yarn and thread.
I'm married, stay-at-home mom to four sons (25,23,20 and 14). Shortly after my third son was born I slipped on ice and broke a vertebra without knowing, two years later I was in so much pain I couldn't walk and an operation followed.
Sadly that was just partially successful so although I can walk again I will never be pain-free and I am unable to do any physical work anymore. Usually I cope well, but sometimes I get very frustrated having to live like an elderly lady and feeling full of energy. I love shih tzu dogs and both out of necessity and because it makes me happy I try to simplify my life and be more self-sufficient.
Thanks for being a part of the BBC Sandra!

I would love to have any kind of sewing skills. Wonderful that you can do that while you are sitting. God bless.
ReplyDeleteWelcome to blogging! You could not have landed at a better place. Isn't the internet a blessing. So glad you can stay busy with your hands =)
ReplyDeleteI, too, am disabled and sew, crochet, craft and blog to be productive. I found being unable to work was very discouraging until I found outlets and I know the feeling of an old lady in a not-so-old body! Nice to meet you.
