As a small business owner myself, I am realizing more and more the importance of supporting small business. This holiday season I am committed to buying at least one gift for every person I shop for from a small business. There are so many amazing, creative people out there!
There will always be a soft spot in my heart for Black Friday, but frankly it's become quite the joke with stores opening on Thanksgiving evening. So I'm planning on mostly shopping online, and will likely head out to support my favorite local small business, Country Roads.

What is Small Business Saturday?
From Wikipedia: Small Business Saturday is an American shopping holiday held on the Saturday after Thanksgiving during one of the busiest shopping periods of the year. First celebrated on November 27, 2010, it is a counterpart to Black Friday and Cyber Monday, which feature big box retail and e-commerce stores respectively. By contrast, Small Business Saturday encourages holiday shoppers to patronize brick and mortar businesses that are small and local.
