Best of the Best {My Most Favorite and Popular Posts of 2012}

This has been another roller coaster year, but there have been so many blessings: reconnecting with old friends and meeting special new friends, building my blog and building incredible partnerships with other bloggers and companies. My children are thriving, my home is more "me" than it has ever been (when it's clean, of course!) and we are finally settling in to a real family routine.

It's always fun this time of year to reflect on what's been going on throughout the past year, so today I'm sharing my

Clockwise from top left:

This list of course begs the question, did I accomplish any of my goals from 2012?
Out of 16 goals that I listed, I completed, or have been actively pursing 12 of them. Go me!!!

I have so much more in store for the coming year...but you'll have to wait to find out what.

In the meantime, I have some questions for you, and all you lurkers, this is the time to come out of hiding, because I want to know what all of my fabulous readers would like to see at Simply Klassic!

1. Which of my top ten was your favorite post of 2012? Or was there something that wasn't on the list?
2. What would you like to see more of in the coming year? (small projects, crafts, room makeovers, recipes, printables, etc).
3. Is there anything that really bugs you about my blog? (Please use sensitivity when answering this one, there really is a REAL person on the other side of your keyboard. Thanks!)

I can't wait to hear all of your answers!

Thank you all so much for taking the time to stop by, read my posts, leave a comment here or interact on Facebook. I truly and humbly appreciate each and every one of you!!!

  1. Kristen- Happy New Year. Your blog has been a wonderful source of inspiration this year. Thank you. Honestly I have loved everything that you have shared but at the top of my list was your bedroom. Here's to another great year in 2013!

  2. I found your blog rather late in the year so I can't offer much other than to say I love the Junkin' Pumpkin. That's what brought me to your blog from pinterest. Needless to say, I went straight to the box of mason jars I had packed up to return to my mother in law (lesson - always return the empty jars and you get more than any one else when it's your turn to pick from the new things!!!) and took all the rings back off the jars. Haven't made my pumpkin yet but I will. Just saw your laundry room makeover as I read your list. Going to look at it now. That is my goal for Christmas break. So far I can't even pick a color - 3 on the wall as of today - but the doors have 2 coats on them and a shelf is in the works. 1 week to go so I better get on it! Keep up the great work!

  3. Self-admitted lurker here. I started following your blog just a couple of months ago. I'm not a crafty person. Oh, and I'm not organized. I'd like to be, and I'm trying to gear my life that way. With a 20-month-old and one on the way, I have to say I enjoy the posts about real life with your family the most. I'm amazed and inspired by all the adorable and practical approaches you have to any household situations. As my husband and I prep our little house for another person we've been talking about finishing the basement (please queue the dramatic buh-buh-buuuhhhhh music) and I even showed him a few posts about decorating and organizing. I'm excited just thinking about that, so thank you for the inspiration. I can't name anything that I don't like about your blog; it's great that it's simple and easy to navigate, fun to read, great pics (who doesn't love photos) and you keep it real. :)

  4. I've discovered your blog recently, about month ago,so I haven't been here the entire year. In this way, it's hard for me to answer all the questions you've asked, but I must say all the blogging tips were very useful for me, since I am rather new in blogging (started this summer)

  5. Kristin you have a great blog. I think this year my favorite where the striped picture frame and the junkin pumpkin. My other favorite is your new blog layout. It's so good and of course all of your tips for us newbies and your willingness to always help is awesome. Oh and I happen to like your reveal, tips, and small projects. The best blogs are the ones that give us a great mix of ideas. Happy New Year to you and your family.

  6. Well, I started following after reading the laundry room make-over, so I was clearly a fan! I love when you do before and afters (of rooms, furniture, anything). It helps get my mind thinking outside of the box, and is so inspiring. I also love your crafts-they are so simple and straight forward. I made the junkin' pumpkin' as soon as I read that post and LOVE it!! Thanks for sharing it all!

  7. Looks like 2012 was a great year for you!! Your living room and master redo's were my favorite. I have an affinity for union jacks after my trip to London, so that was my favorite! Your style is a lot like mine, so I'm really inspired by you! I like that you have DOABLE projects on a budget. Can't wait to see what you bring us in 2013!

  9. I'm relatively new to your blog, and yours is one of only a few that I read religiously. Your sensitivity comes through as you write about delicate subjects and your sense of humor is evident. Seeing your many, varied, and interesting projects is like walking into a friend's home and seeing the latest changes or additions. You are you--a real person with a real life-- and that's what makes your blog so enjoyable. Here's wishing you a wonderful 2013! (PS I loved the canning-ring pumpkin. So creative!!!)

  10. Thanks for all of your tips and tricks this year! I think your bedroom redo is my favorite--it looks so cozy. As for design: Your blog is pretty to look at and easy to use. I'm not a huge fan of centered text, but I suspect that's because I'm weird. :) xoxo

  15. found you randomly and newly following. I read your adoption story and immediately was captured as I recently work for 4 years in a foster care program and those kids, even though I no longer work in the field, are still a huge passion for me. can't wait to explore more :)
