Hello Simply Klassic Home fans! My name is Jenn and I am thrilled to be visiting Kristin’s amazing blog for her Attitude of Gratitude series! I blog over at Clean and Scentsible where I share crafts, organization and decorating projects as well as some of the fun activities that I do with these guys…

In addition to life as a wife, Mommy, and blogger, I also work part time as a pediatric physiotherapist.  Life can get BUSY to say the least, so it is always nice to have a reminder to slow down and be grateful for all that we have.

I think that we can all find many things to be thankful for; however, in the busy lives that most of us seem to lead these days, those things can often get forgotten in the daily shuffle of life. I believe that it is all of the little things in our lives that create our everyday joy – unexpected hugs, quiet “I Love Yous”, the funny things our kids say, or a text message from someone that you have not connected with for a while.

Sometimes it is the simple actions that people around us do – someone saves a magazine article that they thought you would enjoy, your friend picks you up your favorite drink at Starbucks or your hubby actually remembers to take the garbage out without you asking. Maybe your child drew a special picture for you at school. When we are busy, these moments can often pass us by or quickly be forgotten.

Just take a moment.  Breathe…

These little things are what will make your day.  Take an extra minute or two and enjoy them.  Remember them.

I have a little journal that I created to jot down all of the “little things” that happen.  Most of them are about the kids but I do try to add other things as well.  I do not write in here as often as I would like but I do always go back to it.  When I have had a particularly bad day, they are there for me to read.  To remind myself of all of the things that I have to be grateful for.

Remember…there are always many little things in our daily life that can bring us joy.  Some days we just may need to try a little harder to find them.

If you get a chance, I would love it if you dropped by Clean and Scentsible to say hello.  I would love to know what “little things” make you smile!  You can also join me on Facebook.   It will be one more “little thing” that would make my day!

Thank-you so much to Kristin for having me!!  Love ya girl!!

Hi! I'm Kristin and I'm the creative mind behind Yellow Bliss Road, where you'll find tons of recipes, free printables, and a little decor and DIY thrown in for good measure. Life can be complicated, so I am all about simplifying wherever I can - from food to decor to DIY - because I believe that it doesn't have to be elaborate or extravagant to be amazing. I am a single adoptive mom with a daughter in Preschool and a son in Kindergarten. My kids are a handful, I'm exhausted and most days my house is a mess - and I'm okay with that!

Such a great idea. My mom has a “Memory Box” in her living room. Inside of it are notecards and pens. When all of the grandkids visit, they all know they can write down funny and sweet memories as they happen. The best part is going back and reading these years later!

I’ve never thought about keeping a journal of all the small things that happen each day, but it’s such a sweet idea. I need to do this, it will certainly slow me down and remind me of what’s important. Have a Blessed day.

love the journal! So many times it is easy to get down on ourselves or others when we are in a funk- this is wonderful.
When I was first married, I kept a little journal on all the things I loved about my husband and then had him read it on our first anniversary. I had kinda forgotten about that until I read your post. thanks for a beautiful reminder!

This was so great Jenn! I think I really needed the reminder to breath today. LOL! I keep a journal for each of my kids where I jot down the funny things they do/say and what they are doing at each stage but I love the idea of keeping a thankful journal. I am so blessed and yet sometimes get caught up in pity party mode so it would be a great thing to be able to turn to as a reminder of how much I truly do have to be thankful for! And I’m definitely thankful to be part of this series with you! :-)
