Today’s recipe is a cocktail mashup that is perfect for the holidays. This cocktail comes together fast and it’s a delicious way to celebrate the season. I love making cocktails at home. My Aperol Spritz is a warm weather go-to, and during the fall and winter months, I turn to a classic White Russian. This recipe is a White Russian with a festive twist – the addition of eggnog!

How To Make an Eggnog White Russian Cocktail

A White Russian is a creamy coffee-flavored cocktail that is made with vodka, Kahlua, and cream. This recipe swaps the cream for sweet, lightly-spiced eggnog. Here’s how to make it:

  1. Fill a glass with ice.
  2. Add vodka and Kahlua (a coffee-flavored liqueur).
  3. Top off with eggnog; give it a stir.

I use the following proportions, but remember, the benefit of making cocktails at home is that you can easily adjust the ingredients to suit YOUR taste.

  • Vodka – One part
  • Kahlua – Two parts
  • Eggnog – Two to three parts

You can use a shot glass to measure out individual cocktails, or if you’d like to make a pitcher of cocktails, you can swap the shot glass for a larger measurement, like a 1-cup liquid measuring cup.

You can easily make this cocktail stronger by increasing the amount of vodka and/or Kahlua. Likewise, you can make it weaker by decreasing the amount of liquor and increasing the eggnog. Taste it as you go and take note of what your favorite proportions are.

Tip: Feel free to play around with different flavors of vodka. Vanilla, whipped cream, white chocolate, or coffee-flavored vodka would all be great options in this Eggnog White Russian.

Garnishes for an Eggnog White Russian Cocktail:

Since it’s the holidays you’ll want to make your cocktail extra festive. Try some of these garnishes:

  • A swirl or dollop of whipped cream
  • A cinnamon stick
  • A sprinkle of ground nutmeg or ground cinnamon

Note: If adding whipped cream, I suggest that you combine your cocktail in an ice filled cocktail shaker, then pour into a glass without ice. This will keep the whipped cream from separating as the ice melts.

If you have any Kahlua leftover try adding a splash to my Homemade Hot Chocolate. Treat yourself this holiday season! Cheers, friends.
