Simply Klassic Sunday, Features and a Question

Well Simply Klassic Sunday has made it to the four month mark! I’m grateful for the support of everyone who’s linked up and I’d love your feedback. I started the party, not to be “like everyone else” but because I wanted to see what it was like, if I enjoyed it, and if it was something I would want to continue.

The conclusion? I do enjoy it, and I do want to continue, but I’m thinking about changing it up a bit to more of a theme rather than a free for all. I’m wondering what your thoughts are.

Should we:
A) Keep the party as is.
B) Theme the party (different themes each week/month)
C) Keep the party to a basic theme like “Got if for free” or “Use what you’ve got” (projects using only items you have on hand or using items you got for free).
D) Ditch the party all together.

I’d love it if you would leave a comment with your vote and suggestions! Thanks!!

Now for a few features from last week…

Simply Vintageous shared a dresser she painted for her daughter. You know by now I’ve become a wee bit obsessed with Union Jack!

Look What Jeff Did created this amazing farmhouse table from scratch! Just look at that planked top – dreamy!!

My Simply Country Life took a vintage pie pan and turned it into a fabulous piece of art!

Cozy.Cottage. Cute. revealed her little ninja’s Ah.Ma.Zing. nursery.

Up Country Olio took a dirty old room (chicken coop??) and created a beautiful butler’s pantry! I’m so jealous!!!

If you were featured, feel free to grab a button from my sidebar.

Girl, I hate questions like that so I am just going to tell you to do what you want to do. What does your sweet heart desire to do? Then do that…Maybe the Lord has something special He wants you to do. Pray about it. Can’t wait to hear.

I think you should do whatever you enjoy the most! I think it’s fun to be able to link up anything because then you get to see all kinds of projects you may not have checked out otherwise. But it’s your party 😉

Hi Kristin. I like the randomness of your linky party, but you could always do a theme party once a month. Announce the theme at the beginning of the month and have the party at the end. Just a thought. Hope you’re having a good weekend!

I prefer the free for all! When link-ups have specific themes or especially new themes each week, it gets hard for me to keep track when I’m doing my weekly linkups. I find it takes too much time to check on link parties if I’m not even sure I’ll have something I can share.

Hmmm, I think it depends on what you want out of it. I will assume that a free-for-all party will get more participants, but a themed one might be fun for contest and giveaways (like The CSI Project). Up to you, but I will be checking in every week!

thanks for hosting! Seeing, I have only joined in once or twice before, I am not a fair opinion one way or the other. I am so forgetful with some linky parties I feel bad, because I want to join many. I like the free for all ones, and seasonal link ups.

Don’t get rid of it~ I think you should think of what you are most passionate about and base it on that. We all know you have great taste, so whatever you pick will be loved!

Hey Kristin, I think you should decided based on what it is you think the majority of your readers like seeing…whether that be DIY or just furniture, or “anything goes.” I am fairly new to your party and appreciate all that you do to host it each week. Have a great week ahead!

I love your party because I feel it’s not “too big”. I hope that doesn’t sound mean…some of the other parties are like being a little fish in the ocean…haha! I also prefer the no theme because I like to come here every week and if you have a theme I may not be able to post :( I think your blog is so cute and you are very sweet! Thanks for letting me link up every week! Have a great Sunday!

Hi Kristin! Thanks for hosting! I really like the fact that your parties are open, but it may be kind of fun to do a theme once a month. I know some blogger host a regular party, and a theme party, which may be fun, since you would not lose anyone, and you may gain more links with an additional theme.
I say, in the end you should do whatever makes you happy! I hope you don’t get rid of it all together though!
    Have a great Sunday!

Kristin, Ultimately the decision has to be your’s. I personally like the free for all because I couldn’t possibly design my posts to fit every theme out there. I usually just link up to the “free for alls” because blogging has to be personal. I don’t want to post to fit special parties. I enjoy seeing what everyone else is up to. Oh well, my advice is worth just what you paid for it. LOL. Thanks for hosting. xoGinger

Well, we know how I am doing with parties so far…
(Learning one’s way around blog world takes practice!) I love reading all of these cute, adorable, authentic blogs but I’m gonna have to go with the majority and say, “it’s your party, you can cry, I mean, do what ever you want to” I think if you host, people will follow. Why? Because we like you.

First of all, thank you so much for your feature! As a new blogger it has really helped me get out and meet new people. As for your question, I really enjoy some of the theme link parities if there is enough time to plan. It helps me finish up half done project and it is nice to find alot of ideas on a particular topic in one place. But in any event I hope you will not be picking option (D). Like many of the other commenters have said, I’ll be back next week no matter what you choose!!

Thanks so much for hosting – and for the feature!
    Beyond thrilling –
I would say to keep it exactly like it is – I love your blog!
