Peppermint Hot Cocoa Rice Krispie Treats

Thanksgiving has come and gone and Christmas is so close you can almost taste it. Well, if you make my Peppermint Hot Cocoa Rice Krispie Treats, you CAN taste it! These seriously just taste like Christmas. They are the perfect little treat for your Christmas party, and kids love them!


Peppermint Hot Cocoa Rice Krispie Treats

These are so easy to make, too. All you need is some crushed up peppermint candies or candy canes, and a couple packets of hot cocoa mix. You can also melt some Candy Cane kisses (instructions here) and drizzle them over the top if you are so inclined.

Peppermint Hot Cocoa Rice Krispie Treats


  • 6 cups Rice Krispies
  • 4 cups mini marshmallows
  • 3 Tbsp butter
  • 2 packets hot cocoa mix
  • 6 candy canes crushed


  • In a large microwave safe bowl, melt butter and marshmallows for two minutes, stirring after a minute.
  • In another bowl, mix rice krispies, hot cocoa mix and crushed candy canes, reserving a handful of the candy for garnish. Add to the marshmallow mixture and stir well.
  • Press into a well greased 13" x 9" pan. Sprinkle with remaining crushed candy if desired. Allow to cool and set completely before cutting into squares.
