In a medium sized bowl, use an electric mixer on low speed and combine the cream cheese and sour cream until smooth.
Add the dill, chives and salt. Continue mixing until well incorporated.
Gently stir in the smoked salmon.
Serve with crackers, sliced baguette and/or fresh veggies.
This dip will continue to deepen in flavor as it sits.
You can omit the salt completely to lower sodium content.
Fresh dill and chives are best for this recipe. They are readily available all year long and fairly inexpensive - it will be worth it! Dried herbs can be substituted but its not the same.
