These incredible Huli Huli Wings are perfect to serve for game day or your next gathering! Big, bold flavors that everyone will love, and no deep frying.
Preheat the oven to 450℉. Line a large baking sheet with foil and place a wire rack on top. Spray wire rack with cooking spray.
In a large bowl whisk together the flour, baking powder and spices until well combined.
Using a paper towel, pat the wings as dry as possible and toss the wings into the flour mixture, making sure to coat them well. Shake off any excess flour and place wings in a single layer on the wire rack topped sheet tray. Spritz the tops of the wings lightly with cooking spray.
Bake wings for 20 minutes, flip and then bake for another 15-20 minutes or until crispy, brown and baked through.
While the wings are baking, make the Huli Huli sauce. In a small saucepan, whisk together all the sauce ingredients until smooth and combined. Bring mixture to boil and let boil for 1 minute. Remove from heat. Taste and adjust seasoning as desired.
When wings are cooked, move them to a large bowl and toss them with the sauce until well coated and glossy.
Notes
It is important to use baking powder in this recipe. The baking powder helps dry the outside of the wings and allows for a crunchy texture. Using all flour would make for a thicker and less crisp coating. For the crispiest baked wings, make sure they are in an even layer with some space between the wings and be sure to use a wire rack so that hot air can flow all the way around the wings and the juices can run off and help brown the flour on the outside of the wing while cooking.
