This Cherry Lime Ice Cream Float is a tart, sweet and refreshing treat, and perfect for the hot summer days ahead!
I tried a Sonic Cherry Limeade Slush for the first time a couple of months ago, and I have not been able to get it out of my mind since. But since the closest Sonic is a good twenty minutes from us, it’s not an craving that can be easily and quickly satisfied when the mood strikes (which, I’ll admit, is quite often – I mean, seriously, how had I never tried this??).
So of course I’ve had to try out a few copycat recipes for making my own cherry limeade at home, and they’ve been pretty delicious. But I decided I wanted to take it up a notch, and everything is better with ice cream, right? I mean, it’s no secret that I love ice cream floats – have you tried my Caramel Apple Cider Float, or the Strawberry Lemonade Float?
This cherry limeade ice cream float could not be easier. You’ll need some Minute Maid Limeade, maraschino cherries, and their juice, the juice of half a lime, and vanilla ice cream. Of course if you want to go all out you definitely need to top it with a little whipped cream!
Ad a few cherries in the bottom of a pint sized glass, along with a quarter of a lime. Then add a couple scoops of vanilla ice cream and top with marachino cherry juice and limeade. Squeeze half a lime into the glass and top with whipped cream. And don’t forget the cherries!
