These First Day of School “All About Me” Free Printables are just what you need for your annual back to school traditions. They’ll help preserve the memories of your children’s unique personalities from year to year. There are also matching photo signs for every grade from preschool and Transitional Kindergarten through 12th grade!
*This post was written in 2014 and the graphics have been updated for 2017.
With the First Day of School rapidly approaching, I’ve been thinking a lot about how to preserve that day. It’s an emotional day for a lot of parents, and children, but it’s also so exciting. For me, it will be bittersweet as my youngest enters grade school, but I will also get some much needed time to focus on working on the blog and the house, and myself, daily. I’m looking forward to that. It’s exciting to see them grow and transitional into “older” children – they aren’t “little” anymore!
I thought it would be a good time to take a chance to preserve this moment in time with an “All About Me” questionnaire. It’s perfect to help remember where your kids were at as they entered each grade in school, and I know it will be so much fun to look back at the end of the year and see how much their answers change. Today I’m sharing the free printable that I created, and tomorrow I’ll share the coordinating photo props!
The printables are available for Preschool and Pre-K/Transitional Kindergarten (just added!) through High School, in case you’re able to talk your high schooler into filling one out!

Thank you for the school printables i’m starting on my kids school photo albums.
Wow! This is such an incredible idea! I’m a teacher and I was looking for Getting-To-Know-You worksheets for my students and I stumbled across this. My kids are all grown up now, but I wish I had thought to do something like this with them when they were little. I’m also a scrapbooker, so I could’ve done so much with it. *sigh*
Great idea. Thank you for sharing. (Def passing on to my grandchildren!)
Thank you! I plan to use this for the first day of school.
Nice! Thanks for stopping by Wanda.
Thank you for sharing! I feel more ready for the first day of the new school year!>
You’re so welcome Jyhae! thank you so much for stopping by!
These are great! Thank you!
You’re so welcome Lucille! thank you so much for stopping by!
Hi Kristin! Would you possibly have a “last day of school” for transitional kindergarten?
Thanks!
Sorry I don’t.
Hi Kristin. These are amazing. Thank you very much for sharing them. I was wondering if you by any chance have the ones to match with the last day of school? Thanks again!
these are the best, thank you SO much!
Thank you Sarah! and thanks for stopping by!
I know this is an old post. I’ve been using these for three years. I can not get them to print properly this year. I’ve tried rebooting my computer and my printer multiple times. I keep getting 4 black rectangle in the “interview/picture” blanks. I’ve even updated my Adobe.
Hi Kristin,
I have an odd question, but would you be able to provide these with the U.K. school-system? So; Nursery, Pre-School, Reception, Year One, etc. up to Year Six… Or if not, would you be able to provide the work-file so that I may change the header myself? Would love love love this 🙂
Thank you SO much for these! I love having my kids fill out the questionnaire and holding up the signs each year! This will be our third year to use them, and I’m so glad we found them before my oldest started kindergarten.
Just planning ahead…any chance you’d add a “First Day of College” page? Or give us a hint on fonts so I could try to make one?
I can open and download the first day of school “back to school” printables, but when I go to print them, I get an error and it says there is nothing to print; yet I can see it on my screen. Any ideas why? Thanks!!
I was able to open it in another browser.
I got the last day of school interviews to load and print no problem but I can’t even get the first day of school interviews to open. Any ideas?
Me either 🙁
Hi. there
I have a 18 month old son who I would like to start teaching him insteading out putting him in a headstart program. Do you have any tips or printables that would help?
Thank you
Hi Kristin!
First and foremost let me start off by saying I love your site and pintable’s! I am however having trouble printing, saving and or downloading all of the back to school about me’s. I have downloaded, printed and saved all your other documents without issue but I am unable to print these from the site directly form another window or even saving to the computer. Any help would be great! Thank you!
-Yanina C.
I’m sorry you’re having trouble. If you let the pages load completely after downloading them to your computer, that should work. But also check that your Adobe program is up to date.
Thank you for these — I LOOOVE them! Would you mind sharing what fonts you used at the top of each form? I have them all printed and in a book for my kids but I would like to add a cover sheet with their name on it and thought it would be cute to have it match. 🙂
How did you get them to print? I’ve tried and tried, and did all the things she suggested but it either says error or just spits out a blank sheet. Thanks for any help you can provide! 🙂
I feel your pain! I had to try three different computers to find one that would print them correctly. The one that worked was the one with the most outdated programs — I think the latest updates is causing something wrong with printing and loading them maybe. My friend was able to print hers by trying a different web browser to pull them up — you may try that and see if it works for you.
Someone may have already asked this questions and if soI am sorry I missed it. But I was wondering if there were questions for the last day of school? It would be neat to see the change not only in the pictures but also in the answers to the questions. Thanks!!
I love this idea! I have been searching for interview sheets and these are adorable. I was able to view/print the last day of school interview sheets but these first day of school sheets wont load. Any ideas?
Thanks!
Will you please tell me what font you used for the “first day of” portion of the printables? I have been trying to find it everywhere.
Thank you!
These pages are beautiful. Thanks for sharing! I showed them to my daughter, who’s starting preschool this year, and she was so excited.
When I click on the kindergarten link it pulls a pre-k all about me page. Is there a way you could email me the one for kindergarten? These are so adorable and I can’t wait for the kiddos to fill them out.
Hi Katrina, I just tried and it came up for me. Hopefully you were able to grab it. 🙂
Hi! These are so cute!! Am having trouble somewhere, though. The downloads don’t look like the pictures in your post above (no boxes and text missing). The last day of school ones worked great! Any chance that you’ll make the number signs for the first day of school? I love the bright colors on the last day of school set.
Hi Stephanie! There is a back to school number version. You can find it here: https://www.yellowblissroad.com/first-day-school-photo-checklist-printable-props/
As for the prints, sorry you’re having trouble. When you click the link, make sure you let the graphic load completely before clicking the download or print button. That should hopefully help.
Unfortunately I am having the same issue. I’d downloaded your last day of school series without issue – other than I forgot to use them. Whoops! But, now I can’t print the 1st day of school series. I’ve tried right clicking and downloading file/link as well as selecting the link and letting it open (looks fine on screen – fully downloaded it seems) and then using the save function in reader. Boo. But thank you for taking your time to create these! Maybe I’ll still figure it out in time!
I absolutely love these! I wish there was a last day of school one to match! I love the style and colors! 🙂
Hi Amber, don’t you worry, it’s coming! 🙂
I love this. Any chance you are making a “Last Day All About Me”? I would love to see how my kids’ answers and handwriting change from day 1 to the last day.
Thanks for sharing.
I’ve had quite a few requests, so I’m sure I’ll be able to whip one up in the spring! 🙂
Will you be making a coordinating last day of school set for both the photo props and the “all about me”? I would love to see what my kids think on the last day of school too.
This is such a cute printable! Thanks so much for making it available for all grades too! I’ll be sharing it on The Crafty Crow soon 🙂
Thanks! So glad you enjoyed it!
Hi Kristen, I have been trying to print the third grade page but no luck. I have tried many times. Can you email it to me?
Thanks! 🙂
So sorry some of you are having trouble with printing. I have tested with a few people who have had no issues. The only advice I can think of would be to make sure that the images all completely load each time – when you first click the link, and when you click to print. Good luck!
I let them download completely, they show on my computer, but they only print a blank page! Any other advice?
Hi,
My name is Cynthia I love your printables . But when I try to print the tenth grade one it comes out blank. I don’t know if I am doing something wrong or there is a error in the software.
Thank you,
Cynthia
I am not able to print the about me pages, is there something I am doing incorrectly? I see it on my screen but then it prints a blank page.
i can’t print them, does anyone have a suggestion??
I can’t get the All About Me printables to print. I tried Pre-K and 1st and all I get is a black rectangle. Help 🙂 Thank you! Hope I can get it to work..I love these!
I’m having problems printing the About Me School pages as well. It shows find on the screen but it only prints a blank page.
I can’t print the “about me” pages! 🙁 🙁 HELP PLEASE!
These are adorable! Thank you for sharing. I’m, also, unable to download the “All About Me” printables, any suggestions are appreciated. 🙂 Thanks again!
love love love but having trouble printing the pre k version! Can you help?
I LOVE the all about me printable s but haven’t been able to print the Pre-K version 🙁
Help?
I love this – thank you so much! I have tried to print this several times with no success. When it prints it prints a black, filled in box on the top portion of the page – that’s it. Any guidance is greatly appreciated.
For some reason when I click on the Prek, 4th and 6th, it will NOT print anything but a blank sheet and a blank sheet is all that shows in the preview section as well? Anyone else having any trouble with this?
Thank you so much for these colorful printables! Love them!
Kristin,
Thanks so much for creating these wonderful back-to-school items! Has anyone else had difficulty printing the “About Me” pages? I printed the photo props with no trouble, but I’m not able to print the “About Me” pages at all.
Thanks,
Lisa
I’m having trouble printing the “About Me” pages as well! I was able to print the chalkboard print outs, but the “About Me” pages won’t print! I’m so sad because they are so cute!
I am having the same problem-Did you find a way to do it?
Aghhh I don’t think my last comment posted!
I love this idea and think it’s so cute. Our kids grow up way too fast and this is a great way to remember all those small details that are too easy to forget. And Back to School is the perfect time to capture these moments!
Thanks for creating and sharing these printables 🙂
I can’t get my comments to show up either. I just hope the two times I tried doesn’t make a duplicate.
Hey Kristin,
I love this idea! Our kids grow up so fast and these printables are such a cute way to preserve memories and remember those details that are too easy to forget. Thank you for creating and sharing this. 🙂
